Restaurant Review Section!

Welcome to the first in what will no doubt be a completely forgotten section of this blog - the restaurant review.

After coming back from Kefalonia, we were keen to try some different food.

Now, don't get me wrong - Greek food can be very good, however where we stayed was reasonably touristy and so every menu basically consisted of Stifado, Moussaka, Gyros, Pork Chops and Greek Salad (Surely it would just be called salad in Greece?)

Confusingly, this was also true for a Chinese restaurant we found!

Anyway, on to the review;

We had been invited out by Matthew to visit the Blue Orchid Thai Restuarant in Queens Road, Coventry.

It's been there for a while, but neither of us had been before.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of Thai food (hate coconut, and not too mad on ginger either) so I wasn't expecting that much from it if i'm honest.

How wrong I was. Lovely restaurant, fantastic food, good service, moderate prices (about £20-£25 per person for a 3 course meal and a drink)

Highly recommended - 9/10

Kefalonia Pictures

Well we've been back from Kefalonia for a few days now, so thought it time to post a few pictures.

These are just a few of the many hundred we took and need to sort through! - we will post some more.

It was a great place for a quiet peaceful holiday, which is just what we both needed.

I think it's impossible to get stressed about anything on that island, although I wouldn't want to spend more than a week there - there isn't a lot to keep you occupied.

The view from our hotel room

This is what it's all about!

Overlooking one of the numerous bays around the island

Top of the world!

From the same cliff, stunning sun reflection

We hired a car and drove into the mountains, this picture gives some indication of how high up we were!

The famous Myrtos beach - looks like sand, but is actually tiny pebbles.

A stunning thunderstorm as viewed from a wobbly balcony outside a bar!
